VOTE NO BISD BOND TAX INCREASE
MURRAY AND HIS INNER CIRCLE OF "GOOD OLE BOYS AND GIRLS"
ARE BACK WITH YET ANOTHER BOND ELECTION.
You knew they will keep coming back until they wear the taxpayers down
That is the way it is in Austin and we don't want to become Austin. If you think Bastrop has enough population, sprawl and urban blight, this is the only thing you can do.
Don't let them wear you down
KEEP BASTROP, BASTROP
"The average yearly property tax paid by Bastrop County residents amounts to about 3.74% of their yearly income. Bastrop County is ranked 301st of the 3143 counties for property taxes as a percentage of median income."
Even the Austin ISD has a lower tax rate than BISD
"Total Tax Rate $1.192/$100 valuation" Bastrop ISD Proposed Tax Rate $1.46/$100 What is wrong with this picture?
VOTE NO IN NOVEMBER - YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT - STOP THE URBAN SPRAWL FROM DESTROYING BASTROP COUNTY LIKE OUR NEIGHBORS TO THE WEST.
This is what is in store for the "Kids," BISD already has one of the highest per capita ISD debt in the State.
Check it out for yourself
Bastrop ISD Debt - 15 Campuses
- 10,864 students-$301,913,598
Current Bond Debt=
$27,790 bond debt per student
The "fat cats" want to add $88 million to the debt at a .xxxx tax increase.
BASTROP ISD, CITY OF BASTROP AND BASTROP COUNTY are increasing property taxes along with an astronomical rise of property values.
WHERE IS THE $$ THE NEW RESIDENTS WERE SUPPOSED TO BRING IN?
GROWTH IS SUPPOSED TO PAY FOR ITSELF, RIGHT?
ASK AUSTIN TAXPAYERS HOW WELL GROWTH HAS LOWERED THEIR TAXES.
BISD debt is a whopping $302 million now.
We don't pay off our current bonds. We just keep refinancing them making huge profits for the developers, bankers and those buying the tax free municipal bonds !
Many think Austin ISD's debt it outrageous, Compare BISD to AISD. Bastrops ' bond debt is nearly three times greater per student than Austin.
(2016 figures - updates coming)
Austin ISD Debt - 130 Campuses - 82,766 students - $.1,176,762,250 Bond Debt
$14,217 bond debt per student
Bastrop ISD Debt - 15 Campuses* - 10,864 students-
$301,912,792 Bond Debt
$27,790 bond debt per student
The BISD numbers fail to mention the REAL cost of the tax increase.
THERE IS NO TAX RATE ON THE BALLOT
YOU HAVE TO TRUST THE BISD BOARD AND
BISD says it will cost xxx cents a hundred. Is that the truth? Is that the amount at "Full Funding?"
THEIR FIGURES ARE BOGUS.
In the example THE VALUE YOUR $143,079 (Last tax election go it was $144,017) No one knows how much your home will appraise for in the coming years. YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER YOUR APPRAISAL VALUE. YOUR TAXES COULD SKYROCKET LIKE THEY HAVE OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS.
YOU DON'T HAVE ANY SAY AS THEY PREPARE TO TAX YOU RIGHT OUT OF YOUR HOME.
BISD is no "Bird Nest on the Ground" BISD's tax rate is 24 cents higher than Austin ISD's rate REALLY? WHY?

"railroad something through" (something)to force something through some legislative body without due consideration. YOU ARE BEING RAILROADED.
The simple truth about property taxes is that local officials—not appraisal boards—control how much your tax bill increases. Unless they vote to lower tax rates every September to adequately offset rising property values, Texans will pay higher taxes.
